What Are The Best Simulated Diamonds

By Angus Miller at 2012-06-22 07:40:50
The diamond is very valuable and each one unique and beautiful. It is very pricey no matter what size and especially the larger ones. Now many types of fake diamonds look so much like a real diamond you sometimes cannot tell them apart. Many people may wonder what are the best simulated diamonds? Here are a few of the best and most popular types of fake diamonds.

If you are interested in purchasing a simulated diamond there are many on the market. Crystals and Topaz are a couple gems that are clear. These gems really resemble the diamond when shined up carefully but lack some of the brilliant shine that a real diamond can provide. Because of the different bodies between these gems and a real diamond, you can tell them apart by using a Polari scope.

Another one of the best types of fake diamonds is the synthetic spinel. The difference between the synthetic spinel and a real diamond is that the diamond shines more brilliant then the synthetic spinel. The synthetic blue gem is a colorless gem that is fake but resembles a real diamond especially after it is polished.

Long before the synthetic cubic zircon was created, zircon was the best fill in for the diamond. Zircon has two refractive indexes, which are different from each other. Because of this, it produces an optical phenomenon. When seeing the polished looking zircon from the top of the surface, you can see that the underneath the surface it has some double images. This will not happen with a real diamond because of the type of body that it has.

Synthetic Rutile is a familiar natural mineral. It has a composition made of titanium dioxide and its refractive index is much higher than a real diamond, so it shines very bright after it is polished. Although, most all of the natural rutile is found to be non-transparent. Synthetic Rutile was launched in the year of 1947 and was clear in color looking like the diamond. If you want to tell the difference between this and a regular diamond, you can use a magnifying glass to tell them apart. It someone asks you what are the best simulated diamonds the answer is that there are many very good simulated diamonds that come close to looking like a real diamond. Simulated diamonds are very popular and are readily available in many places including stores online.
